Jungle Temple (Traps)

Traps

Pits

One of the most commons trap in the Jungle Temple is a simple pit. In most cases Lara simply has to jump over it, in some cases, when the pit is very wide, she had to change lanes to run past.

Blockades (Walls/Pillars...)

Also a common trap is an upcoming wall or a stationary pillar. If it's a full size wall, Lara has to switch lanes. If there is an opening at the bottom, she has to slide through, if there is an opening at the top, she can jump over the obstacle. There are instances where both may work, when a pillar or a tree is blocking the path on middle height.

Collapsing Floor

Sometimes Lara is confronted by collapsing floor, usually on a bridge while running past a pit. You need to jump at the right moment, instead of continuing along the walkway.

Swinging Pendulum

The swinging pendulum is one of the traps encountered during a regular running phase. To overcome it, it is best if you are running in the far left or far right lane, and slide underneath the pendulum.

Falling Tree (Quad Bike)

The falling tree, usually occurring during the quad bike sequence, is caused by enemies, who Lara can not fight at this point. She has to make sure to pick a lane without other obstacles (like a rock, usually on the lane closest to the root) and duck under the falling tree.

Swinging Beam (Quad Bike)

The swinging beam, usually occurring during the quad bike sequence, is also triggered by enemies, who Lara can not fight at his instance. The beam will swing across the whole width of the track and the only way to avoid it is by ducking at the right moment.

Spikey Vine (Wall Run)

The spikey vine is a trap encountered during the wall running phase. Lara has to perform a well timed jump sideways (swipe right) to overcome the obstacle.

Falling Rocks (Wall Run)

The falling rocks are a trap encountered during the wall running phase. Just like with the spikey vine, Lara has to perform a well timed jump sideways (swipe right) to overcome the obstacle. It is a little more difficult, as it isn't always clear where to jump.

Toppling Hanging Column (Wall Run)

Another trap occurring during the wall running phase is a column that will swing outwards. In such a case Lara has to jump sideways to the right, to swing around the obstacle.
